There’s no way to get around it: if you’re looking to become a pro blogger, you’ve got some pretty tough competition. Even bloggers who write on supposedly “niche” subjects face opposition from similarly themed blogs.
So how do you keep your content fresh when there’s someone covering the same topic? Believe it or not, the web is big enough to handle multiple blogs about your interest, be it street art, baking, or insurance advice. The key is to properly distinguish yourself among your peers as the go-to person for your niche. Here are some tips to separate yourself from the blogging pack.

How to Write Content that Drives Traffic
by Onibalusi Bamidele.
Yes, you read that right!
You can write content that “drives” traffic.
There are very few words that can deeply affect the emotions of a blogger and one of those few words is the word “traffic”. The unfortunate thing is that when it comes to getting traffic to our blogs we’re all used to the idea of using tactics, with little concern for the kind of content we create.
In my experience the best way you can generate traffic to your blog isn’t by guest blogging, it isn’t by blog commenting but it is by something I call “writing for traffic“. If you’re ready to start writing for traffic then read below to get a few tips to help you write content that drives traffic.

Three Positive Questions To Keep You On Track as a Blogger
by Frank Dickinson.
This whole blogging deal can get confusing at times. We start off like gang busters with a passion and purpose. We write. We share. We create. We even think we are doing exactly what we were called out of the depths to do.
Everything is pixie dust and unicorns. Beautiful. Exuberant. Near perfect…and then we wake up from the dream and realize that blogging is work. It takes focus, persistence and execution.
Been there? Enjoying the tee shirt?
I understand.
We could spend the rest of this blog post talking about the negative reasons why this happens.
It’s Friday and who needs to go into the weekend with a load of negative stuff? What say we focus on:

6 Reasons It Pays To Use Your Real Identity As a Business Blogger
by Jessy Troy.
Being a business blogger isn’t always so easy. Aside from having to produce quality content and build up a dedicated following within a saturated business blogoshere, once you decide to express yourself online you are taking a risk. You are constantly opening yourself up to criticism and maybe even harassment, and that can be disconcerting, especially since your potential audience may either be close to home or be difficult to estimate or predict.
Some business bloggers choose to separate their personal and professional lives online using a pen name, alter-identity, or even an anonymous blogging voice. Not only does this feel much safer, but it may also allow the blogger more freedom of expression.
That said, there are several reasons why it still pays to keep your blogging persona as real as possible. Here are six of them:

by Vikram.
Whether you’re writing because you want to make some money or if it’s just because you want people to read your incredible insights and finally come to understand that you are infinitely superior to them in every way – you still have to direct them to your blogpost.
This is why most articles sharing a common title with this one focus almost entirely on SEO and, while this is a singularly vital point, it isn’t the only one of importance. To approach from a relatively new angle I have, therefore, decided to include a few alternative points to SEO which will also get people to open your article and perhaps even share it with their friends.

Developing Mindset – The First Key to Success
by Patti Stafford.
In a recent article I covered the 5 Keys to Success. Today I’d like to talk a little more about mindset. What exactly is a mindset? Does it just happen or do you create it?
A mindset has to be developed, so in a sense it’s created over time. However, many people have developed mindsets due to the conditioning of their environment. It’s not something they intentionally created, it just happened. Once a person realizes they’ve developed a mindset that wasn’t their own creation, many begin to change it, so it also involves awareness.
In fact, 95% of the people you meet don’t really have their own mindset, they just accept the way they’ve been conditioned to be. More than likely, if you’re reading this site on a regular basis, then you’re someone who doesn’t want outside influences to condition you. You want to create your own success and develop your own mindset.

Outlining Your Blog: 8 Things to do Before Choosing a URL
from The Conservative Journal.
When the time finally comes when you’ve decided the blogging world is calling your name, you’ll likely head straight to WordPress, make an account, and have your first blog post up in 7 minutes flat. But you’ll have already made a fatal error; you didn’t HAVE A PLAN.
I’d be willing to bet 97% of bloggers write their first post without ever thinking of where they want their blog in a months time, much less in a matter of years. How do I know this with such confidence? I was the exact same way when I started The Conservative Journal back in 2008. I created this blog on a whim after becoming very disgruntled by a political move that was made at that time (I’m keeping politics out of this series.
These posts are for ALL potential bloggers, so they are going to be completely politics free) and had absolutely no idea what to do by the second day. By making yourself a clear with pen and paper (yeah, that stuff still exists somewhere), you’ll start out blogging with a leg-up on all of the people who didn’t. How should you plan, you may be asking?
