It is undeniable: [easyazon-link asin=”1118188764″ locale=”us”]video marketing[/easyazon-link]works. But how do you integrate video into your overall marketing strategy and make the most of your efforts?

    Set Clear Goals
First of all you will need to identify your business objectives and make a clear plan of action. When you set out to create a video marketing strategy, the road ahead may seem very long – but drill in deep and simplify it down to the key objective for your campaign. Once you have done that, planning around it becomes much easier.
For example, do you want to:
    Generate exposure?
    Increase your conversion rate?
    Reduce your bounce rate?
    Increase brand engagement?

Of course – it is likely to be a combination of all these things and more, but it is important to focus on one area at a time, and plan your strategy around each of the cogs that will turn the wheel.

That’s one of the key messages from a panel of social media experts at the recent Globe 2012 conference in Vancouver. Social media are now basic tools for reaching a whole range of audiences – the public, stakeholder groups, business partners and government regulators. Gallup recently reported that organizations doing the best job of engaging online audiences enjoy a 26-per-cent higher gross margin and 85-per-cent greater sales growth than those who are struggling with social media or avoiding it.

Corporations working to reduce their environmental footprint – through reduced energy consumption, for example – will find social media an ideal ally, provided they’re making an authentic effort and presenting their results, both good and bad, for the public’s examination.
