15 Questions You Must Answer About Your Website

    1. What is your Website about? (What are your objectives?)

When someone first visits your Website, they’ll ask one question of everything your Website does, “What’s in it for me?” To be successful, your Website has to show your visitors what they’ll get from your site rather than from a competitor’s site.

    2. Who is your Website for? (What is Your Niche Market)

When your Website is “well-niched,” you have created an Online presence that is so tightly focused in it’s market that potential clients and customers will seek you out – the right kind of customers who will purchase your services or products from you over and over again.

    3. What is your USP? (Unique Selling Proposition)

Your Unique Selling Proposition (USP) is simply a short mission statement that reveals to your customers and clients what makes your business (or you) unique from the competition.

    4. What is your PVR? (Primary Visitor Response)

The Primary Visitor Response is one of the most crucial elements of your entire Website. Before you begin to even think about Website design, graphics, content, advertising and marketing, you must know your PVR: what is the main action you want the visitor to take when they first visit the Home Page of your Website.

    5. Visitor First Impressions (The Look and Feel)

When designing a commercial Website, graphics and pictures should not be used to just entertain your visitors – they should also be used to help your visitors focus their attention on your text.

    6. Web Page Title (Important for Search Engines and Visitors)

Creating benefit-rich web page titles is one of the most important jobs of successful Internet Marketing. Each web page needs to have a title that answers the first-time visitor’s question, “What’s in it for me?”

    7. Meta Tag Keywords (HTML Source Code)

“Key” words are the words someone uses to find your Website and they are one of the your most important marketing tools because if the proper “targeted search” words are not in the source code or in the content of your Website, the search engines won’t find you – and no one will ever visit your Website!

    8. What is your URL? (Domain Name)

If you want your business to have a professional Internet presence, you should have your own domain name (URL) because it creates instant credibility and it will usually rank higher in the Search Engines.

    9. The Importance of Credibility (Building Visitor Trust)

When people first visit your Website, they will be skeptical of what your Website tells them and hesitant to purchase your products and services. Online customers don’t want to buy from an unknown Website – they want to buy from an individual they can trust. (Social Proof)

    10. Testimonials (Credibility – Customer Comments)

Testimonials and comments from satisfied customers are one of the best forms of advertising – but to be effective, they must be verifiable. (at the very least, use their full name, city, country)

    11. Contact Information (Establishes Content Authority)

Because of the anonymity of the Internet, visitors to your site want to know whom they are dealing with and what their credentials are.

    12. Products and Services (What is Your Website Selling)

To successfully market your products or services on the Internet today, you must first find out what people “want” (not “need”) then sell it to them! This “little known secret to Internet profits” is what all successful Online marketers follow: find the “want” first, and then find a product or service to fulfill that want!

    13. Website Usability (Technical Information)

A good rule of thumb to follow when designing your Website is to assume that everyone who visits your site is new to the Internet. Therefore, your Website needs to follow the KISS principle. (Keep it Simple)

    14. Website Structure (Ease of Navigation)

The single most important point to ease of Website navigation is how you design your links. The content of your Website needs to be divided into logical categories with easy to understand links so that a visitor is no more than 2 clicks away from where YOU want them to go.

    15. Linked Pages (Used to Score High with the Search Engines)

Each search engine looks for keywords in a different way and they are constantly changing the way they do their searches. But one factor should remain constant – by including links on your pages that lead to other related Website resources, you will score higher in the Search Engines. You also want links coming back from other related Websites as well. (Always include a Links page.)
